What an incredible find and absolutely awesome service. Ordered on a Monday and was delivered on Wednesday of the same week. Way faster than ordering items from eBay that are shipped from the US and the seat came from Europe to Canada. Arrived double boxed, so shipping was awesome!

For those that are looking for a SIM seat solution that can be put away when done playing, this is what you need. Setup is very quick, simple and was racing before you knew it. Love the seat, very comfortable and the ability to adjust the seat to suit whatever your needs are is fantastic. Takes less time now to setup and put away the game racing gear than before and way more comfortable.

Now time to upgrade my wheel and pedals.....

    Keep the shiny side up!

i just can say that it hold all this time like a boss of course after couple hours when i start sweat like a pig the seat material become wet as well but as a high quality material it was still confortable to drive and sit on it of course would be way better driving i think on a leather seat but playseat challange seat make a great job as well and i dont need to be worried about that can something go wrong with seat. so im happy about this your product but i will give 8/10 because no gear box holder and would be more comfortable that all rim would be a little bit wider but if we dont watch in these two options then 10/10 ;)
but its only two problems wich i saw after hard using this seat
the advantages of this seat is
    good price
    space saver
    giving all experiance of simulation
love that i can controle seat how i want in all ways
    stability is amazing
all those high quality stickers blowing my mind how they can hold me because my weight is 90kg
and of course i love that high quality material
and all design is really cool so just let you know that is amazing product. thank you.

After using it for 2 weeks every night, I had to write a review for this product.

Some background first. I had to upgrade from the Wheel Stand Pro which I used for 2 years. It did the job, but not quite. Having a separate chair was not comfortable enough for my back. I needed an upgrade. A full rig was out of the question, as our house doesn't have a man-cave. So my wife would not be happy with a rig lying around. I finally settled for the Playseat Challenge and man, still asking why I didn't buy this seat before.

Setting it up was a breeze. But then came the real test. Sitting down in it. I was somehow doubtful it would be stable. So I cautiously got in the seat and WOW! You really feel you got into a race car. I had to adjust a bit the seating position by tweaking a bit the velcro steps, but that's it. And did I already say it's really comfortable? Heck, this seat is more comfortable than my Celica.

Besides saving my back, another advantage I found was that everytime you open up the Playseat Challenge, it always gives you the same setup every single time, as if you're getting in your own car, which is great. Unlike the Wheel Stand Pro, where you have to fiddle around with the levers, so it's not always the same setup.

During sim racing, besides being comfortable, you also don't have a bar in the middle, like the Wheel Stand Pro. which might get in the way (especially if you're using 3 pedals and heal-and-toe).

Stashing it away, which is why I bought this in the first place, is quick and easy. Collapse the chair, strap a velcro band to secure it, wrap the wires around the pedals, collapse the pedals, strap another small velcro band and done - 2 min job flat.

Get yourself a present, and get this chair. You won't regret it.

Around two weeks ago I decided to go for a Thrustmaster wheel along with a Playseat product. Although at first I was skeptical about the rigidity and comfort of the Playseat Challenge, I am actually very surprised with how the seat feels and its stability.

With regards to the wheel, I opted for the T300RS GT, as after reading numerous reviews this seemed like a great wheel at a reasonable price. Accuracy and force feedback feel great!

In short, I recommend this combination (Playseat Challenge + Thrustmaster T300RS GT) to anyone looking to add to their racing experience and willing to spend around 600EUR.

Ever since I got my Playseat Challenge, I was addicted to playing driving games. It was the best racing seat I tried while playing my favorite driving games. Besides all the fun in it, it has all the features that I have imagined on an ideal gamer's seat. The design of it's portability and ease to setup and fold is genius. Plus my experience on purchasing this seat is remarkable, as it was beyond my expectations. The seat was delivered to me in a snap and in great packaging.

Thanks again PLAYSEAT. Here is one of your many very satisfied customer. More power to you and keep up the good work. :)

THE perfect solution for the gamer with a wife that does not want your setup permanently in front of the family TV! I am a traveling sales rep and pack my seat, PS, and G27 into my truck for every trip - take into hotel and don't miss a race. Playseat just as stable and perfect today as when I unpacked it 18 months ago. NO issues, NO complaints, Playseat delivered more than expected (unusual today).

I received my Playseat Challenge today and hooked it up to my Logitech G29 wheel and pedals. The assembly was very intuitive and I was racing on Project Cars 2 in short order. I am 6' tall and weight 250lbs. and was concerned about how I would fit in the Challenge chair. All I can say is "wow." It is extremely comfortable and I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend the challenge for those who have a confined space to race in. It is excellent in every way possible. After a great session of racing, my Challenge cockpit folded into an easily stowed package. Thanks Playseat!

My gaming chair used for racing finally wore out and I started looking for a replacement. I needed a seat that was comfortable, and could be stored easily. I involved my wife in the process of determining the best option and we both found the Playseat Challenge appeared to be the best option. I ordered the seat directly from Playseat and the process was easy, fast, and actually fun. I monitored the seats journey via FedEx from start to finish as it traversed the globe. The seat arrived in excellent shape and I was able to assemble it in minutes. The materials are of excellent quality, from the Alcantara seat to the tubular chair frame, wheel platform, and high quality Velcro straps. My racing wheel and pedals attached easily and are very stable. I am able to race for long period of time without fatigued or becoming uncomfortable. An added bonus to the Playseat Challenge is the absence the wheel platform post found on other seat seat ups. There is no post between your legs! Thank you Playseat for providing an alternative to larger more fixed racing simulator chairs. See you at the races.

Back in 1998 I remember playing Gran Turismo for the first time and being blown away. Mostly because finally we have the game most of us idealized a proper racing game should be. In 2002 I got my first racing wheel. The first driving force gt. Which I had bolted to a dinner tray complete with a rocking recliner my grandad gave me. Not exactly ergonomical Lol. Hell, a gated shifter was unheard of. I used to imagine what a racing seat at home would be like. Fast forward too today where sim racing has become sort of a snobs hobby. It's expensive. You guys at playseat have found a very special niche with the challenge. Cost, comfort, reliability & functionality. I think finally, we have the rig most of us idealized a proper home rig should be.

I will begin by saying that I'm very happy with my purchase so far. I have put in probably around 12 hours of racing in it so far.

Delivery was very fast, and the product was packaged very well.
The construction of the seat surprised me by its sturdiness. It was very easy to mount following the included instructions.

However, it is during the installation process that I discovered the few drawbacks.
First, the included velcro strap isn't long enough to hold my Fanatec ClubSport pedals. Thankfully it's nothing a few zip-ties cannot fix.
Next, as some earlier reviews have pointed out - there is no shifter/handbrake mount included. My Fanatec GT3 wheel comes with a mounting system (although a flimsy one) so I was able to mount the shifter this way.
On the plus side, I was able to correctly mount my steering wheel using the attached hardware and pre-drilled holes.

Cable management is tricky, if like me, you want to have everything attached all the time. You have to compensate for the chair folding in terms of cable length. This is not a design flaw - I don't think there would be a way of simplifying this.

In usage, as mentioned earlier, the construction is very sturdy. It does wobble a little bit, especially around the steering wheel, but it doesn't break the gaming experience. This is the price to pay for being able to have a real racing cockpit in a small room.

The folding aspect is great, it takes me around 2 minutes to fold the chair out and be ready for racing.
Storage is easy, but beware of it tipping over if you have heavy steering wheel and pedals - just put it against the wall to solve that problem.

There are two unexpected bonuses due to the design of the seat : First, no central pillar between the legs due to the wheel mounting system. You can move your knees around, like in a real car.
Second, the Vibration and Force Feedback of my Fanatec gear transfers into the light construction of the seat so I'm able to feel the bumps and the RPM of the car in the whole body. It greatly helps the gaming experience.

Once folded out, it looks and feels like a racing seat. It becomes the centerpiece of the room.
Overall it is a great buy for someone without the space for a full-on racing cockpit but who wants to experience the game in a different way.
It is relatively inexpensive for this type of quality. There are a few drawbacks but nothing major (although the shifter/handbrake mount would be welcome).

P.S.: It's much easier to convince your wife of having one because you can easily stow it away!

This is the second Playseat Challenge that has been purchased to provide interactive education and awareness to students and adults regarding the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. The seat is used in conjunction with the One Simple Decision driving simulator from Virtual Driver Interactive.

The Playseat Challenge is a valuable tool that has raised our program to a higher level. The students are intrigued by the seat and are eager to participate. The seat is portable, easy to store and ship to events, and quick to set up.

The order process is efficient and the customer service is focused on meeting the needs of the customer in a timely manner.

I would highly recommend the Playseat Challenge to other organizations.

Love it, love it, love it!! If you are even just considering purchasing the playseat go for it you won’t regret it I promise you. It’s easy to set up and though it’s a foldable chair design it is surprising sturdy. It is reassuringly heavy but still easy to fold and put away. It’s really ideal if you don’t have the space to have it out all the time. The seat itself is just like a race seat is really comfortable and feels expensive. Once inside it just takes you to the track I have the g29 wheel set and it was wasted until I got this seat. Now i just love it it so stable and comfortable the pedals and wheel panel can be adjusted to perfect height and distance and it’s just great fun you just get lost in the track it just feels so real. Having the combination of a wheel stand pedal area and seat it’s just perfect for me. Go on do it and thank me later

This is a surprisingly sturdy seat with offers a lot of flexibility both in terms of adjustment and use in limited space. I had put off buying a seat due to the limited space in the TV room and although I had looked at these previously was concerned that they would not be solid enough. I wanted to upgrade my sim racing setup for a while now. Having used a desk chair and desk clamp to secure the wheel for years, I was looking for a not too expensive, solid and immersive chair. Amazed by its built quality, adjustability, it also offers a wheel plate where I have bolted on my Fanatec CSL elite. Even the 6Nm of power do not give noticeable flex.
I couldn't be happier. The fact it folds away so easily without unmounting the wheel of pedals is an absolute joy! And it takes up to no space as well.

If you are faced with the decision to buy a racing seat, there is one model that seems to be impossible to get past. Are all the praise justified, is the seat really as good as many claim? I can anticipate one thing, yes, it is!

    Spoiled for choice, isn't it?
Not everyone has the necessary space for a permanent race seat, others don't want it for other reasons. And a desk mounted steering wheel that is constantly screwed on and off? Not many alternatives remain. Of course there are still the classic wheel stands, which have their justification. However, you need a suitable seat for these too. Nobody wants to use a rolling office chair for this, even an armchair is too uncomfortable in the long run. Yes, even a decent gaming chair costs as much as the folding Playseat Challenge. If you start thinking about it now, you already know, yes, a folding seat for simracing is needed.

    Unboxing:
When you unbox the Playseat Challenge for the first time, you're surprised how compact everything is. The term "camping chair" in the guise of a racing seat is truly false, because both the fabric cover and the workmanship (including the frame) are robust and of high quality. Once you sit in the seat, there are hardly any vibrations. Everything is firmly in its place. Of course there are differences to a fixed rig whose goal it is to avoid any vibrations. But if you could expect this from a collapsible chair, you would have a wrong idea of what this chair can do. The feedback of the chair is very good, the robust construction leaves no doubt that you can have many hours of fun here permanently.

Rally specialists should be told that even rough steering movements are swallowed by the Playseat Challenge, nothing slips and the fun of the game is not spoiled.

    Playing comfort:
I have now spent many hours in front of the monitor and am still very satisfied with the comfort of the racing seat. It folds in and out in under a minute. Accessories such as a digital dashboard (with a small external screen) can be attached as a DIY solution, but of course are not officially supported by the chair. Instead, it scores with a flawless pedal mount that won't slip even when the brakes are applied forcefully. If you want to look for a shortcoming, then there where the hook and loop fastener securing the pedal unit is attached. This loosens from time to time and if you forget the occasional check, it can happen that the pedals slip out of the holder when folding. I circumvent the problem by attaching an additional strap, then everything holds securely. But here we are talking about a little thing, straps just give way.

    Steering wheel and pedals:
As steering wheel I use the TMX Pro (the Playstation-pendant is the T150) which is distributed by Thrustmaster. As pedals the well known TP3A. Unfortunately the TMX Pro has the peculiarity that in connection with the seat no mounting with screws is possible. The competition from Logitech G29/G920 makes it better here. The T300 from Thrustmaster can also be screwed on without problems. However, the TMX Pro's clamping device is better than its reputation, and if you want to avoid the steering wheel slipping minimally due to the seat constantly folding up and down, it's best to attach the hook and loop fastener supplied with the chair under the steering wheel. The counterpart on the steering wheel mount of the Playseat Challenge. In combination with the clamping device of the TMX Pro, nothing can slip anymore. But be careful, the hook and loop fastener holds enormously, a new loosening is only possible under effort. In connection with this steering wheel there is an adapter from Ricmotech, with which the TMX Pro can be screwed to the bracket of the Playseat Challenge. This would be the expensive additional solution.

    Against tilting:
An important detail that almost goes under is the anti-tilting device at the bottom of the Playseat Challenge. If you forget to pull it out, the Playseat Challenge can tip to the side due to gravity when getting out of the seat. So, don't forget it! But the user manual points this out and is altogether well described.

    Save space:
If you're not in a particular hurry, you can also just fold the pedals and push the seat to the side. This saves space and the racing seat can be left standing. But even when folded, the racing seat does not need to hide. When looking in the cupboard every day, the seat invites you to play again and again.

    GT or Formula 1?
When it comes to seating comfort, I can reassure anyone. You sit comfortably for many hours. Especially since the seat position can be adjusted from upright (GT position) to half lying (Formula 1 position).

    Conclusion:
What remains to be said about the chair? It's a piece of equipment that will provide a lot of fun for a long time, an elementary object of the sim world. As the basis for the steering wheel, it makes a decisive contribution to the fun of the game. After all, who can keep up for a long time when after an hour your back hurts from the couch chair? So it's better to grab a folding chair like this and be rid of your worries. Simracing is becoming more and more popular, the Playseat Challenge provides many reasons why this is so.

    I really like this playseat!
I have been using it already for more then few weeks and I can say, that it is a really well designed, comfortable, functional, takes very low space when it is not being used.
Even my wife likes it and actually she started to play Rally for the first time in her life :D
My kid is still too little (3y), but he also asks me to let him drive. He climbs up on my knees and likes to test drive for few minutes.

In General, for beginners and when you need to save apartment space - probably it is the best choice.

Great seat for those with limited space, it packs away easily with steering wheel & pedals attached, build quality is good, it's sturdy and is very comfortable for those long race sessions. Would definitely recommend for those wanting to get a little more out of their race sims without breaking the bank.

    - Man sitzt sehr bequem in ihm.
    - er ist sehr robust
    - und das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Very clever design to fold away so small and yet still be very comfortable to use. Adjustable enough to get into a good position for me (68kg and 178cm / 5ft 10). Also feels solid against force feedback of wheel (using Logitech G920), and like it will be durable. Great product!

The Playseat Challenge is the perfect option for those that have either limited space to have it set up all the time, or for those that are husbands/ fathers who don’t always have much time to get some laps in. It’s simple set up and ability to fold with the steering wheel and pedals makes it quick to jump into the car and get on with racing. Once folded up, it’s light enough to carry out to the garage or tuck it away in the cupboard. It has plenty of adjustment and is comfortable to sit on on for long periods of you get the chance. I’ve been using mine with the Logitech G29 Steering Wheel and Pedals playing F1 2019 on the PS4, it has made a huge difference.

The seat is very well designed and thought out. The seat comes with a small number of major parts which fit together easily. The sitting position is easily adjustable, the seat itself is comfortable to sit in with no impediments for me and all is easily foldable with steering wheel still attached into an easy to carry state which fits into a closet or an area out of the way. I have the thrustmaster t150 wheel and even though the t150 isn't boltable to the seat's metal plate as standard, I can still use the t150's clamp to fit to the plate and hold it in place. For me it does the job and i'm playing racing games in comfort with no issues so far

The Playseat Challange is an excellent seat for those with little space, the frame is more sturdy than i thought it would be and although at this time the seat front seems a little on the high side, it is adjustable and I hope will be more comfortable moving forward, otherwise it is reasonably comfortable and allows me to be much more relaxed whist driving and helps to improve lap times. It definitely suits my purpose.
The order process was easy and was dispatched the same day as the order and arrived as predicted by the Playseat store.
On arrival, it took me approximately 30 minutes or maybe less to unbox and assemble. The seat is well made and well thought out in its construction. Thank you Playseat, this will give me many hours of fun.

After about 30 years I've decided to start sim racing again. I didn't want to spend too much for the seat but it had to be great value for the money.

So I studied some reviews and youtube videos and decided for a playseat challange. This was definitely the right decision.

I had some doubts because I'm 1,84m tall but it turned out that the customization options of the seat are powerful and after some adjustments here and there it fits very well for me.

I have a Fanetec CSL elite wheel and used some cable ties for fixing the CSL elite padels. This is something playseat could improve. I also use a little pillar in my back but I do this in every chair, it just feels nicer to my lower back.

Assembly was very fast and easy as expected. The material of the seat and rack is nice and of high quality. During driving I have absolutely enough stability both for the wheel and the force feedback as well as for the padels.

I like it a lot and I hope to spend many more hours with the seat, it is an essential part of the overall racing sim experience.

    Thank you Playseat!

I've always wanted a sim setup but couldn't afford it and most of all I never had the space. The Playseat has a great ergonomic feel and is extremely comfortable. The material of the seat is excellent and shape formed with just strap supports makes you feel like you're in an F1 style racing seat. The frame is supportive and sturdy. The main USP is that it took 25mins to put together and is easy to fold away with the my wheel and pedals. Every aspect from feel to comfort to functional had been thought of.

Having bought my first wheel set I found myself needing something to mount the wheel and pedals to other than the flimsy folding table I was currently using. Limited by space and being a large fellow (rugby prop) the Playseat Challenge was one of a very few options available to me which was a) foldable and b) would take my 110kg weight.
The chair was easy to install except the rather short strap securing the pedal set of my Thrustmaster combo. This only just fitted, and only at the narrowest part of the pedal base. I did find some self adhesive “velcro” pads which may have been intended to solve such issues but I couldn’t find reference to them in my “glance” at the user guide.

The chair is comfy for the most part and very adjustable and should suit 99%+ of all those likely to use it. Rigidity is very acceptable for a foldable, relatively light weight chair and gives drivers no real issues even with the most energetic steering wheel inputs! I would have liked a little more adjustability in the front to back wheel position rather than having to tilt the chair back backwards or forwards (and therefore sitting angle) in order to adjust the reach of the wheel. I suppose someone could design a second plate to attach to the standard wheel mounting plate and use this to provide a sliding wheel mount in a similar manner to the pedal outrigger. This could be sold as an optional extra.

The only issue I personally had, being a largish fellow of 1.85mtr and 110kg, was that it was rather narrow for me at the front of the seat (near the swing over steering wheel platform arm) and the front arm rest buckles dig into my thighs though only slightly but noticeable after extended play. I do not anticipate this being an issue for the vast majority of users, only those will a larger frame!

Overall this is a great piece of equipment with some real thought having gone into the design. Time will tell on longevity but from other reports I’ve read I don’t expect any issues. As such I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a relatively Inexpensive racing cockpit that can easily and quickly be put away when not being used.

True there is one IMPORTANT thing to mention - before first usage (I have a black chair), try to clean leather materials with some kind of a brush or a sponge, because after my few first excited hours of playing, I have got my white shirts and green shorts black spots.

After buying a Logitech wheel, the next logical step was to buy a seat to go with.
Playing with the wheel on the desk is OK but playing while sitting in the Playseat Challenge is far better !

Easy to build and to set up, the seat arrived like an Ikea furniture, except it's very easy to build it.
The wheel was also easy to put on. Two screws and it's done !
As for the pedals, one velcro band and it's good to go !
There are several settings possible to adjust the seat, the wheel and the pedals position.
Big plus ! Once you set it up, you don't need to do it everytime. You just fold it, store it in your closet and next time you want to play, you unfold it and boom ! Ready to play !

I was anxious about the stability (compare to a "real" rig) so when I first sat in it I was very cautious but, it is very stable and very sturdy.

It's affordable and very compact if you don't have a lot of space at home for a "real" racing rig.

I live in France and I received my package very fast (even with all the things happening now..).

One negative point, though : no gear box holder.. (but I will find a way..)

All in all, it's a very good product and I really recommend it !
    Thank you Playseat !

Welcome to Covid-19 Lockdown. Yes I was looking to the future when I firstly purchased a Logitech G29 steering wheel and pedal set with gear stick. This promptly arrive and my good lady said "would you like a proper seat/setup to go with it". Well I said, "that would be great babe". In side the G29 box was a leaflet ref your products and so the browsing commenced. I set my eyes on the Petronas AMG F1 setup until she (the Boss, the one who must be obeyed) said not at £1100, how about the CHALLENGE in black. We looked, deliberated and finally when I thought sufficient time for a not so spontaneous answer had passed I said "yes please" like some demented child. Ordered, paid for (cheers babe) now had to wait as it was Saturday.
Following Thursday, Fed Ex delivered one times Playseat Challenge. I was a good Confined husband and completed the housework before I opened and set up my new aquistion for the man cave.
Setup - was very easy and adjusting was simple with the velcro armrest. Being able to attach the steering wheel with screws as well as the built in clamps is a really great idea for peace of mind that it is securely in place. That and the adjustable foot plate for the pedals makes this a superb purchase for a household with various sized people so they can all use it. It also has little velco straps so you can tidy all the cables and keep them out of the way. In next to no time I was speeding around Palm City (NFS Heat) and then Melbourne's Albert Park on F1 2019. When not in use it can easily be folded and put away, or if I am to slow my cat can use it as an alternative sleeping area to his other beds!!!
Am I pleased with the purchased....No.... I am absolutly over the moon and love it. Thanks to the cat I haven't had to put it away and it sits pride of place next to my other gaming chair. I am now just waiting for the Gearstick mount attachment for it so I can use the gearstick which is depressingly sat on the floor.

Many thanks Playseat and hope to receive atleast an email ref the gearstick mount soon if not the the actual gearstick mount which would be FANTASTIC......

Having foreseen the up and coming Covid-19 Lockdown I purchased a Logitech G29 steering wheel, pedals and gearstick to try to relieve the boredom of staying in. This subsequently arrived and my loving (PS4 hating) wife asked "would I like a proper seat to use it all with"? Big smile across my face I said I would love one for my man cave! Inside the box for the G29 was a leaflet for your products and so started the browsing. I set my sights on the AMG PETRONAS F1 set until I was told that's a bit much and so we settled for the Playseat Challenge in Black. Done I said and she ordered and paid for it (Sat). Then the waiting had began. Monday got the email it had been despatched and it arrived on Thursday. I was a good boy and finished the housework before opening and setting up. Setup was easy and coherent, and the Logitech Equipment fits perfectly. The Red markers/lines in the arms are very good for help in adjusting. The footplate is also adjustable for length as I am 6' (187cm) tall. The seat is also very comfortable and can be sat in for a considerable amount of time (have sat in it for 6 hours(don't tell the wife)) with out any issues. I also have a full leather XRocker Chair and it is just as comfortable if not more as that is situated on the floor. This is also endorsed by my cat who has also taken a shine to it. It is collapsible so after the lockdown when it is not in use it can be placed out the way. I love this chair and it has finished off my man cave. Can't wait until the gearstick mount comes back into stock to order it to finish of the set.

Many thanks Playseat for hours of continued fun in such gloomy times.

    Regards

    Mike

For a long time I was thinking about Playseat Challenge, since living in a flat prohibits me having a big sim racing chair.
Challenge was the chair that fits all the criteria:
    1. Foldable
    2. Comfortable
    3. A bit pricey, but still an okay price
    4. Nice quality of materials and overall build quality

Assembly process does not require a lot of time, the initial correction to your body -- this takes quite some time, but it's only at first with minor corrections over the first time playing with it, after that you are good to use it without the need to correct anything.

My usual racing sessions consist of 1.5-3h of driving, not getting up. Before I got Challenge, I was using regular generic dining chair. It was uncomfortable to use and since pedals weren't fixated, had some minor inconveniences that made me poorly focus on racing.
After getting Challenge, I no longer suffer from some random pains, I focus purely on the race, since my wheel, shifter and pedals are fixated properly and do not bother me during racing.

I highly recommend this chair to anyone who is:
    1. A beginner and starts getting into sim racing
    2. An advanced sim racer who is constricted with the space at home and needs a compact solution (there's just no better alternative to it, except doing everything DIY, which can be even pricier in the end)

Overall I am satisfied by this model and I am happily using it every day.
    Thank you, Playseat!

P.S. Ordered my chair on Sunday, it was shipped out on Monday.
Came on Friday and it was a day later than promised by FedEx, but it is because of virus and border shutdown.
Still would say it was very fast shipping and much needed fun delivered right to my home in such unpleasant times in the world.

It's hard to find something that served as a realistic endeavour of racing, while being compact enough to be put away.

I looked at tables, racing rigs on amazon, and then i stumbled upon this. While putting it together you do certainly question if this is what you paid for, but upon hopping in the playseat and running raps in grab Turismo, you quickly see what it is all about.

For a person as myself with a larger frame, I fit in the seat and was definitely held in place. Having the ability to adjust the wheel and pedals to your seating position is great, and serves as a way to have other drivers fit in the seat comfortably.

Already hooked, grabbing more games, and my friends are already looking into getting their own playseats.

I highly suggest getting one, and changing your racing experience moving forward.

This chair is a bit pricey unless you get a deal on it, BUT I have to say I'm very impressed with what it is! This seat was very well thought out and designed. It is super comfortable (even with my bad back) and the material is quality! This is an absolute must have if you are going to get into a force feedback racing wheel. A stand just doesn't do the job of giving you that actual driving feel. This does. No more sliding pedals. It is surprisingly stable (chair and wheel). It's so adjustable in every way. My Fanatec F1 wheel bolts on clean! I'm a perfectionist and I can say I'm very very happy with this purchase. it's perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a big permanent rig. Living in a 550 sq ft studio with limited storage, space was a serious issue and consideration when purchasing my racing seat setup. I wanted something that could fold up and be stored easily, but that also was comfortable for extended playing sessions. After reading a ton of reviews, I decided on the Playseat Challenge and couldn't be happier. I'll break my review into numerous sections to review everything:

Ordering/Shipping: I ordered my Playseat during their Black Friday sale and got a great deal on it. The order was processed quickly and I received regular updates via e-mail on the status of my order. I had ordered my Playseat on a Sunday. It was delivered on Friday - a mere 5 days to get from the Netherlands to my home in Washington, DC. I received regular shipping updates from the shipper as well, which were much appreciated.

Setup/Installation: The Playseat comes in a decent sized box with just a few pieces to assemble. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and everything was super simple to put together. No tools are required either as they provide everything you could need. I had the entire thing set up in around 5 minutes, which is about as good as you can get for a "plug and play" setup.

Quality: The overall quality is top notch, especially for the price. I'm 6'5" (~1.96m) and 200 pounds (~90kg) and fit comfortably in the seat. The rails are heavy duty enough to where I feel no flex from them when I sit down in the seat and it doesn't flex or move around on me when getting out. The simulated Alcantara they use on the seat itself is great quality and feels somewhat similar to the Alcantara on my actual race seat, and breathes just as well. The swing arm setup for the steering wheel which allows you to get out and into the seat is a basic setup, but works flawlessly and seamlessly.

Design: The section for the pedals is adjustable in or out, so you can really customize where your feet are on the pedals, which is extremely nice.

The overall cradle design of the seat itself is extremely comfortable and very close to my actual racing seat. While you don't get the side bolster support you would from an actual race seat, you obviously don't need it since you're not experiencing any lateral g forces while playing. The straps that support the seat as well are near perfectly placed and don't interfere or bother you at all. While the seat is not adjustable forwards or backwards and has no adjustable lumbar support, I've never found that to be a problem. It seems to be perfectly fit for the proper form while racing.

The mount for the steering wheel is properly centered and easily lifts up and out to allow entry and exit from the seat. The wheel mount is also adjustable up or down like a telescoping steering wheel in a car would be. My one complaint would be that the wheel isn't adjustable up or down. I'd prefer if it was adjustable up or down, but you can adjust the telescope side of the wheel mount pretty easily to compensate pretty well for this.

Overall: If you have limited space and want a great racing seat setup, I would highly recommend the Playseat Challenge! It's extremely comfortable, well built and designed, folds up and stores easily and looks great! I've spent easily 40 hours in my seat since I received it and have recommended it to all of my racing friends who have mentioned in the past wanting a home setup. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one again!

    Really enjoying this!
I am using a Logitech Momo wheel with the Playseat Challenge. All I had to do was remove the center desk clamp from the Momo. The two "front edge" clamps work fine to secure the Momo to the baseplate using a couple pieces of wood to create the "desk depth" that the Momo clamps expect.
    Very happy!

I bought this seat because at the moment i don't have enough space for full sim-rig, but i want to have proper siting position and right wheel location. After assembling this fold-able rig i immediately noticed that it is sturdier than most of reviews are saying, especially in wheelbase plate fixation. It stays in place and there is no movement in any direction with Fanatec CSW 2.5 wheelbase, and after using it for good 10-12 hours i can say it fully supports its power and there is no movement in either direction. seat is comfortable and can be adjusted to different people liking. Assembly instructions are clear, materials are high quality, shipping was faster than promised (arrived 1 day earlier). 11/10 :)

Got it, set it up, race. This is the most comfortable chair I’ve sat in and it’s perfect for racing without going for it’s bigger siblings. I wish I got it sooner because the way everything is set up and the adjustments make it more comfortable to race in and I do feel more relaxed and faster compared to using a desk and computer chair. The quality is great and it’s really stable for what it is. Highly recommend this for its portability and overall comfort for this price range.

Just got into sim racing so I'm a new to it. Picked up a wheel and pedals but knew I needed a chair that was sturdy, comfortable and did t take up alot of room but still looked cool. Well the playseat challenge checks all these boxes. Super easy to put together, very comfortable for adults and kids, holds my wheel, pedals and shifter nice and secure and it really enhances the sim racing experience. When I'm not using it folds up in a few seconds and I just put it in my closet. This seat is affordable and nice very happy with this purchase. Would love to try there other products !!!

I had recently purchased Logitech G29 racing wheel from discount and naturally only after few tries I started to want a proper seat too. Since I have a girlfriend who I share the apartment with something very fixed was not an option. Luckily I found Playseat Challenger and ordered it.

Product arrived well packed and the box was way smaller than I expected (even was able to transport it in my Porsche which is rare for any kind of boxes). After opening the box instructions were very clear and assembly of the seat was quick and easy and entirely tools free. My Logitech wheel and pedals also fit perfectly on it.

I have been using the chair for some weeks now almost 5 hours a day and I can tell it is way higher quality for the price than I expected. It is very comfortable to use even long times and haven't shown any sign of being too weakly built on any part. Also it folds away while keeping my pedals and wheel on it so zero extra hassle for taking them on and off either. In the design they seem to have thought of everything since there is even a small pull out side support to stop the seat from falling when you open the wheel part to get into the chair.

It is first racing seat I have no regrets for going for this one. It doesn't feel any worse than my friends more expensive fixed one. Only happens to be cheaper and way more girlfriend friendly.

I did not have high expectations, as it looks like a garden chair on the pictures. But when it arrived I was blown away by the quality and stability. Installation was done in 15 minutes including the adjustments to my size. It's very comfortable, even for longer sessions. The only thing bothering me sometimes is the VR headset being to close to the headrest. But that's a "me" problem.

I'm using this mainly for iracing and my first 3 races produced two wins in this chair (neither me nor playseat claim that you will win races with this ;)

I love the overall idea and design, it folds up great! Just a few little things you should know, there's nothing included for a separate shifter (e.g. G27) which is annoying, and there are metal pieces right around the hip area which dig into me a bit - probably not as big of an issue if you're a little smaller... Recommended overall!

I've only had my seat for a couple days and I'm pretty happy with it. The quality of the seat entirely is really well made. The fabric is very soft and the frame is solid and the velcro strap seem to be some kind of magic holding my 260lbs self without worry. My only grievance with the seat would be that it's a bit small. Not in the sense of usability, but being I read that it has a 330lbs weight limit, I figured it would be a bit wider than it is. I got thick legs and the metal oval rings on the straps for holding it vertical, dig into my legs, Even though I have the seat laying fairly flat. And let me tell you, there is no "leg room", with the swing arm design and the narrowness of the seat, everything is a bit cramped.

Overall though I really like the playseat challenge. It's not without its faults, but for the price this is a really good option. I just wish it was a bit wider. NOTE: there is no shifter placement on this chair, you can get the official shifter mount bar from playseat, but I recommend rigging up your own shifter mount with some clamps and angle iron.

After a long time researching options to upgrade to a proper seat & wheel combo, I took the plunge and bought the Playseat Challenge ... and I do not regret it!
Ordered directly from the Playseat Store, delivered in 4 days. very easy to put together and easy to adjust. I am an average height and weight and the seat is very comfortable. I am using the Playseat Challenge with a Logitech G29, and had no problems installing.

The most amazing thing is how it folds up to a very reasonable size, even with wheel and pedals hardbolted - even my wife is impressed (relieved) that it can be easily stored.

All in all, you just can't go wrong with this. If you are stuck for space it is a no-brainer, and even if you have lots of space it's worth getting too. Now i just need to learn how to drive properly ....

Delivery was not under 48 hours, but as it came to Chicago from Europe for free in 72 you can't argue much. Have spent a few multi hour sessions in the challenge and have been surprised by the comfort. I went with this over the other options because of the fold and store capability. The fun/comfort and enjoyment of the first few days had me looking at the other playseats on offer. If you are 50/50 on getting one of these versus sticking with a controller, take the seat, worth it by all accounts.

Ero alla ricerca di una postazione gaming che mi permettesse di giocare lunghe sessioni con “assetto corsa” comodamente, ma non avendo una stanza gaming dedicata il problema si presentava di difficile soluzione. Ebbene no!

Consigliatissimo!!!!

The Playseat Challenge is an excellent seat for the average sim racer looking for a more fun experience. The solid build quality, comfy seating position and customisability takes sim racing to the next level of enjoyment, all while being foldable and fitting under my bed when not required.

Unfortunately, there is a minor drawback which makes the seat slightly annoying. The servo mounting position isn't quite rigid and there's definitely some movement there, detracting from the whole experience slightly.

All in all though, the seat is excellent value for those looking for a smaller footprint racing seat.

De playseat challenge is gemakkelijk in elkaar re steken, ik had zelfs de handleiding niet nodig want alles wijst zichzelf uit.

Guess who got a Playseat Challenge, right, I did...

    Love it!

Easy to setup. Very solid, especially since it folds up. It is also pretty comfortable but a bit narrow for my somewhat over-size hiney.

Time to race, pull it out, fold down the pedals, sit down, drop the wheel and everything is perfectly setup.

Company coming, it is out of sight in 30 seconds.

I love this chair and wish I had gotten it sooner. If you are on the fence, come on in, the water is perfect, you will not regret it.

Ok, I'm a recovering car/F1/adrenaline junkie and one thing led to another, bought a high end NVIDIA gaming card, then a gaming keyboard, then a TMX Thrustmaster, and it wouldn't fit on my desk SO I bought this chair! I live in an apt in Manhattan (a big one, with two kids and wife, however, so no room and flack will be taken about filling it up with my "junk..."
GAME CHANGER. With the wheel (and the arguably weak pedals with the TMX, but who cares, can upgrade later :)); and this chair, force feedback on high and I'm having an absolute ball playing F12018, Dirt, and attempting Asseto Corsa but damn that game is twitchy. I have driven cars on multiple race tracks around the world and well, I just don't have the time to do that anymore. Look, the thing is rock solid, folds really well, and you can the guys that designed and built this thing give a sh*. Not some cheap Asian knock-off, poorly designed item. They ship it to you from Europe via Fedex (included, amazing, you can track it all the way)! JUST GET IT! You can see the other kids stuff etc. in this pic, but you can also see how nicely it tucks away, and just open, plug in, and ready to go!

Ordered PlaySeat with no big expectations, but with trust that is going to be a good product. And I was not mistaken. Impressed by the quality and it seems like its going to last for a long time. The seat is very stable even with the aggressive drive.
The only weak point is that the seat is not enough adjustable to be used by kids smaller than 150cm, therefore my little son needs to wait for a couple of more years. I believe that can be fixed by making liftable pedals frame.

So, there is no way that I can have a full racing rig in the middle of my room in front of my TV. At the time, I am limited on space but still wanted to play some Xbox racing games with my Logitech G wheel. Dragging out a shaky table wasn't working either.
Now within a few minutes, I am comfortable and ready to race! Everything is mounted securely to the Playseat Challenge. Plug in the USB and power cord. Folds up when I'm done. If you are looking for an wheel stand, look no further. I have been thinking about purchasing a wheel stand for a long time. I had a metal printer stand at work doing nothing and thought i give it a try. It was close without adjustability so, i thought about purchasing a foldable wheel stand. Then i thought i had limited space. The printer stand was a pain to move and set up. So how much better would a wheel stand make? Then i saw this Playseat Challege on You Tube, and glad i did. The set up and take down is easy, since it's all in one. The seat is comfy and once you have it adjusted to your liking, it can be folded up and ready again when you are. I would recommend to anyone that would need to setup and take down when needed.

This chair hits the ideal sweet spot in terms of function and cost. Clever designing and the use of quality materials never makes the Playseat Challenge feel like a cheap choice.
The only ding I have to give it (and it's a quarter star off, not the whole one) is the triangle anchors for the arm rest Velcro bands. The triangle shape sticks out just enough to be noticeable pressing against your outer thigh. Now, I've sat in the chair for at least two hours and have never had any bruising, but an alternate design choice here could eliminate this one contact point.

I live in a smaller apartment with little closet space but I am very involved with Flight simulator's and Racing simulator's. The biggest challenge for me is I don't have the space for a large permanent rig setup and I didn't want to have to tear down my rig each time I have company over then have to set it back up again. The Playseat Challenge accommodates my needs in a couple of ways. First off its easily foldable when I need to move it and you don't have to remove your controllers beforehand. Just fold it up and stash it in your closet or in the corner of your bedroom or living room and that takes about 1-2 minutes in all to do. Secondly the Playseat Challenge works with my racing sim controllers as well as my flight sim controllers and if you have a tiny bit of knowledge on how to modify then you can easily rig up a shifter on the side of the seat as well as a throttle quadrant for flying. The last great benefit for the Playseat Challenge is it DOES NOT BREAK THE BANK. It's the most affordable seat out there on the market and it's more comfortable then many other seats in the similar price range and believe me when your sitting in this seat for hours at a time you need it to be comfortable and not make you sore which after hundreds of hours of use already I can say I never am. Oh yeah one last added benefit is its adjustable which means if you prefer to sit straight up you can, if you prefer to lean far back you can as well or you can have anything in-between to exactly fit your comfort zone. Dare I even say you could even take a small nap in this chair if you where so inclined to do so by leaning it all the way back. I hope my review has given someone out there answers to their questions when considering a Playseat purchase!

This is my first experience with putting together a sim rig. I am limited on space and needed something I could put away when not using, while still providing the immersion that a full cockpit does. The playseat challenge delivers in spades. From the build quality to the mechanical design I am thoroughly impressed.

Having the wheel fold out makes it very easy to get in and out, while allowing you to have an excellent stability and cockpit environment when in use. I am 5'8 and had no trouble getting I to a comfortable position, with plenty of adjustment available to fit my 6 ft friend as well. The simple strap and backstop system means your pedals are rock solid without having to hardmount them. And the sliding system means you have lots of room to move the pedals and get into the perfect position.

The seat is comfortable, with thick durable material and heavy duty velcro straps that can be adjusted to affect the support and seating angle. While not the easiest system, you can't really adjust while sitting in the seat, it only took me about 10 min of trial and error when I first set it up and haven't thought about it since. I can't really think of a better system for this chair that wouldn't increase complexity, price or weight so I can't fault Playseat for the velco set up. It works well, and is a good solution.

It's not the most stable platform, which is to be expected from something as light as this. However your body weight keeps it well on the ground, and to be honest the little movement that the force feedback causes adds to the immersion for me, as some of the ffb is transmitted into my most, much in the same way motion from a car would be. However I have no qualms about the durability of the chair.

The only concern I have is the plastic piece that locks the wheel carrier in place. I feel that if you didn't properly line up the metal tab with the slot in the plastic and forced it closed to many times that it would potentially break. However I am careful to line it up Everytime I use it and don't think it will break barring user error. I would have liked to see that part be metal as well though, for piece of mind.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I got it on discount, bit would t hesitate to purchase at full price.

Solid 4 out of 5 from me, and a huge step up from other small or cpact alternatives. Great job Playseat!

I was aprehensive about ordering this as it was a decent amount and I was a casual gamer. I took the chance and couldn't be more pleased. The seat was easy to assemble and is as easy to use as all the company promotions say it is. It took my driving game to the next level and I am driving much better than I ever did with just a controller. My only issue is that it's a little narrow in the knee area for those with bigger legs. I'm about 5'11" and about 230 and the bracket for the seat strap digs into my legs a little bit right above my knees. It's not a deal breaker though, as it's easy to ignore while you're racing. Overall, the seat is worth the money, even if you're a casual gamer.

I'm glad I finally decided to purchase a racing seat! It's crazy how much a low racing seat changes how you feel while you play a video game. I use a Thrustmaster TMX Pro with the Playseat Challenge. The only problem when using the TMX is that the clamps hit the bar that supports the metal plate you clamp your wheel to. This is causing me to buy a hard mount adapter for the TMX wheel that I found online. The chair takes a little bit to get adjusted correctly as I am 6 feet 1 inches tall. I was able to get perfectly comfortable and love this seat. Overall I easily recommend it to anyone who needs to be able to quickly move their racing setup and/or fold it to put it away.

Recently got the playseat challenge to accompany my Logitech G29. Quite simply, I am over the moon with the product. The quality of the materials generate great comfort especially when it comes to long sessions.

The seat itself adds to the immersion factor of simracing. It really is a must to take your experience to another level on a reasonably tight budget or tight space.

The seat is perfect if you are limited on space or need to move it around a lot. It is light weight, can be folded up in a minute and laid back out again swiftly.

The stand that the wheel connects to is very sturdy and perfect for force-feed back wheels such as the g29. The plate can also be adjusted along with the pedal plate for comfort.

In short, I would definitely recommend this seat due to the great value and quality you receive. A highly comfortable and sturdy rig that is perfect for those who are on a tighter budget and lacking space

When my seat arrived, it was like Christmas morning. The shipment arrived 2 business days after my purchase which is amazing, especially considering that I am in the US. The seat itself was very easy to set up. The instructions were very clear. I had the chair assembled and ready for an initial shakedown in about 10 minutes. Adjusting the seat to find my most comfortable position was a process that took a couple days of trial and error. While this may seem like a long time, it really wasn't, and the belt system used to suspend/adjust position makes this seat extremely custom fitting.

I was immediately shocked at how much better I could focus on driving instead of wrestling with a wheel stand or pedal movement.

Overall the seat feels very sturdy. I am a big guy, 6'2" (~188cm) and 230 lbs (~104 kg), so this really says a lot.

All of this AND it folds up! Are you kidding me? This feature makes for a high spousal approval rating.

My only issue so far has been the retaining piece that secures the steering wheel arm. It appears to have gotten bent at some point. This causes a little movement of the arm. This doesn't make the seat unusable, but it is just annoying. I am hoping that I can replace the part.

This seat is a great deal, and at its price, it is a no-brainer.

After months (if not years) of tricky installation of my racing wheel, I FINALLY found the seat that suits all needs.
    - My wheel fits perfectly on this seats (and I'm not afraid anymore to break the table on which I fixed it before)
    - I can use the screen in the living room (the biggest at home) without having to move the screen or putting in place a crazy installation.
I simply move the seat (with everything attached on it and cable tighten with the equipment provided), in front of the TV, plug the 2 cables (Power and USB), run a couple of races and then move it back to his closet.
Being able to store/hide the seat in a closed (or anywhere) is a life changer as the "lady of the house" is not complaining anymore about my stuff lying around :D

Thank you playseat for this amazing product!!

As a car designer, knowing the ergonomics of racing seats, this product is quite good for such simple structure. I was very skeptic in the beginning, however after ordering it, it blew me away.

    1. Delivery was quite faster than promised in emails. Therefore were very happy when i received earlier than i expected.

    2. Construction was quite simple, not too much hassle.

    3. Sitting process is also cool, when you see right away you don't feel the comfort but after sometime, you feel the ergonomics are good. I wish steering part was adjustable, so you can bring closer to yourself. But still really good.

    4. Overall impressions are quite positive. Worths every penny. Definitely awesome for such budget. Please keep it up!

I had been looking for a simulator cockpit for a while as using a rolling chair with my computer desk was causing problems, usually it's hard to heel-toe if the pedals move away from you every time.

Being an average married 30 year old, my wife controls every aspect of my life, and thank god she let's me have an office where I can play video games with her permission, but she wasn't going to let me add a big non collapsible sim rig to the room. WHAT AN EYESORE she would think, and so that wasn't going to happen.

THANK YOU TO PLAYSEAT for making a rig which folds up to the size of about 2 folding chairs stacked on eachother, because of this I was able to slowly convince my wife to let me get the rig. My cables are long enough that all I have to do it's fold it up and move it off to the side of my desk when not in use, and I can unfold it and be back in action when I want to play in no time.

Now I'm heel-toeing like a boss, breaking all my old lap records, and looking good doing it.

Build quality is much better than expected given the low price, everything is very solid and I was even able to mount my shifter on the side with minimal wobble.

Can't recommend this thing more. Thank God I found out about it.

Very nice, comfortable, enjoyable and compact at the same time.
Stable enough for slim guy and G25, easy to get in/out.

The alcantara material is very nice and comfortable, I really like how compact and how easy it is to (un)pack it. Disconnect power adapter/usb put them inside the chair fold the chair, strap it on top, fold pedals, strap them - and that's it - can put it aside and clear the space.

I use it with G25 w/o shifter, Oculus Rift, racing in AC. Previously mounted G25 on computer table and sat on dining chair - obviously quite an improvement from that - also feel my times/consistency improved with it.

    Cool product, thanks.

The play seat is better than I expected. Heavier than I expected (which is a good thing). Fun and comfortable for hours and easily adapts to different size people.

The only ways I can see to make it better would be a tilt option for the headrest and a slider, fore and aft, for the wheel.

Keep up the good work. I’m going to get another for my trailer.

Purchased after returning stand with center post. The Playseat Challenge was recommended by my brother. Setup was easy and straight forward. In use the seat is comfortable (average height and heavy - not fat build) and easy to use. I noticed in a forum where it was mentioned that the seat could constrict at the thighs, I have not noticed any problem. I like the seating position and feel.In play it is stable and holds the wheel (TM300RS) firmly and steadily. The pedals work well with the velcro strap holding them securely in place. The entire assembly folds easily and quickly and is easy to store when not in use. Overall I am extremely pleased with the Playseat Challenge and would recommend it to others looking for an easy to use and not overly expensive gaming rig.

After recently purchasing the Oculus Rift and some driving games I was looking for a wheel and chair. I got the Logitech G920 with pedals and began looking for something to place it on. A full sized racing chair was not a possibility. The prices were kind of ridiculous and I wanted to be able to store it easily when not in use. I was looking at the wheel stands and was about to pull the trigger on one. I wasn't sure what chair I would use with it and couldn't understand how it could possibly hold the wheel very securely. Then I came across the Playseat Challenge. I am glad I happened upon the perfect solution.

After reading the reviews I decided to order. I couldn't believe how quickly it got to the United States. (3 days, I think!) The outer packaging was slightly damaged, but the second inner box was in perfect condition. I unpacked it and had it assembled in about 15 minutes. The Logitech wheel fit perfectly and secured with the included bolts. I was able to adjust the angle of the wheel platform, sitting position, and distance to the pedals so it fit perfectly. I am 6'3" 220lbs. This thing was plenty big, and sturdy enough for me to flop into it. It was also adjustable enough to work for my 9 year old. If you are much bigger than me it may get a little tight. The seat is about 19 inches wide and around your knees, where the wheel supports come down, is about 16.5 inches. Your legs angle in toward the pedals at that point and it fits me well with a little extra room.

Everybody wanted to take a turn once I got it set up. The immersion is incredible between the force feedback on the wheel being passed onto the chair and the VR goggles. Did I mention this thing is comfortable? I told my wife to come check it out. The VR games made her sick to her stomach, but she comented on how comfortable the chair was. She said she wanted to watch a movie in it. I told her to get out and I got back to driving. She can get her own. For something that looks like a lawn chair in the box the Velcro straps across your back, molded headrest, and sturdy frame give excellent support. The wheel and pedals are held securely and allow you to really muscle them around without them going anywhere.

Storing it away is as easy as the other reviews say. Fold the frame, strap, fold the pedals, strap, and slide it into a corner. No more than two minutes. When you unfold it the side Velcro straps put it right back into the position you had it in previously.

For little more than a quality wheel stand, do yourself a favor and pick this up instead.

So I was a little skeptical of this thing before I bought it. I mean $250 for basically a lawn chair with a piece of metal over your lap? How can it be worth that much? But I read some reviews, I was tired of my cheap setup, and I needed something that allowed me to keep my living room space too. So I pulled the trigger, and I haven't regretted it since.

This thing is awesome. Super comfortable, great quality alcantara, great mounting points for the T150 (with Ricmotech adapter), and it even included hardware! The only reason I was frustrated by that was because I went and got the exact same bolts it came with because I didn't realize it had them with it!

You can sit in the chair for hours on end and not worry about it, it doesn't get too hot, and there really isn't any noticable movement in the steering wheel plate.

10/10 would recommend, totally worth the price. Just buy the thing already, you know you want it!

This seat is perfect for enhancing your sim experience while trying to save a little space. I live in a condo and have a 5 month old son so saving space is definitely at the top of the list when I was searching for the right seat. It also works great with the thrustmaster t gt wheel!!! I was worried that the t gt would be too bulky or heavy but it works fine. I have the T3PA-Pro pedals and even though the provided strap doesn't fit over the pedals, the "pedal tray" (I'll call it) still holds the pedals firm in place. It makes it even better that it is possible to have a nice, affordable, and functional option out there for sim enthusiasts to still be able to enjoy their favorite racing games. Playseat bravo on this design, I could have leapt for joy when it arrived at my door last week!

I am a Disabled Veteran that lost his left thumb which greatly changed my ability to game. I love racing and first person shooter games but found it very hard to play anymore. Since I no longer work I was on the market for a seat for my Logitech g920 wheel and pedals to make racing easier for me. With the lack of funds and the wife riding me about money I found the Playseat Challenge and decided to buy it because they offered free shipping and it was priced right. When it showed up the setup was quick and easy. It took a few minutes to adjust it to me and I was off racing. Having severe back problems after five surgeries I was worried about the comfort but I am able to sit in it all day racing with no problems. I will absolutely suggest this product and company to everyone. I will also upgrade to better products from them as funds allow. Thank you for your quick delivery and great product!!

I am new to sim racing and did a lot of research online to try and find the right platform for my Thrustmaster T300rs wheel and pedal set. I needed a portable solution, since I don't have the room for a full racing seat setup (or the funds to buy one). It came down to the Playseat Challenge or one of the competing wheel stands. Many online reviews stated that they ended up replacing their wheel stands with a Playseat Challenge, and they wished they had bought the Challenge first. That really helped me decide, and I'm glad I avoided that mistake. The Challenge is everything and more than I expected, and even though it was a little more than I had hoped to spend, I've discovered that it is well worth the price. I highly recommend the Challenge to anyone who only has room for a portable racing seat. Don't make the wheel stand mistake, save up for a Playseat Challenge. You won't regret it.

Like most game console drivers, I can only dream of having a full sized driving seat setup. Room limitations and the need to move my wheel out of the room so family life can resume, have led to multiple wheel mount purchases. Finding a decent wheel stand is not too hard, but that still leaves the chair dilemma, the need for comfortable chair with good driving position that is portable. A quick Internet search led me to the Playseat Challenge. It is the perfect answer comfort, stability, and portability.

The Challenge arrived in the USA in less that a week and was well packaged, double boxed, and in perfect condition. Assembly was a simple process and was completed by following the clearly illustrated and diagrams in the manual. There are no language barriers to overcome; just follow the pictures and adjust the seat to position of your choosing. My Thrustmaster 300 wheel fit perfectly with the pre- drilled holes that accommodate most major wheel companies' products. An allen wrench is included along with mounting screws so there is no hunting for tools in the garage.

As far as driving goes, I can drive for much longer and in greater comfort using this seat. It is quite stable, though getting in and out of the seat takes some getting used to especially when the chair is in a steeply reclined position like I use. Once you get some practice egress is easy (I am 65 so...). Once I got to driving I shaved two seconds off my best lap time at Abu Dhabi and I am consistently faster than I was with my wheel stand and chair. The wheel does move up and down a bit, but it is not noticeable while driving and blends with road surface irregularities and bumps quite realistically.

Setting the seat up and taking it down are faster and easier than my previous wheel stand and chair. It requires only one trip to the closet instead of two and everything I need to race is right there. I can't recommend this chair highly enough for anyone who needs portability, comfort, and more speed!

Arrived quickly from overseas and setup was pretty easy. Took quite a bit of Velcro adjustments to get my ideal sitting position, but once it's set, you don't need to mess with it again. It's basically like an inclined hammock and super comfy, can sit in it for hours with no issues.

My only complaint, and this is minor, is the mounting surface for the wheel base. It's fairly sturdy, but even so - when mounting a Thrustmaster T300RS-GT Edition, there is some up/down wobble when steering. I have never used a wheel before so I didn't know the base and wheel would be so heavy to cause this, but to be fair, it's about as sturdy as engineering will allow for a portable/fold-able chair.

It's not problematic when playing because you're immersed in racing and don't really notice, but in the future when I have more space I will absolutely get a full rig so the wheel feels rock solid. I get a bit enthusiastic when driving and tend to push/pull the wheel and I fear I may break the mounting surface eventually on this product.

I thought that after getting a racing wheel my sim experience was changed, but I didn't expect it to change so dramatically after getting a racing seat...
Space is an issue here, and I was looking for something that I can easily stow away when not playing, and can quickly set up when I have 20-30 minutes to burn on the road. A friend pointed out the Challenge, and I shortly had one ordered.
Shipping was quick, setup was a breeze, and once I sat in and played once I can't seem to get back to the "casually grabbing a controller and racing a couple laps".

I made my own little setup with some PVC and wood when I first got my wheel. It was neat, but I always knew I wanted to get a real seat. I also knew that I couldn't get a full seat, because I simply don't have the space. The Challenge is perfect for me. Set up and tear down in less than a minute, and it really takes up no space when folded up. It has surprising sturdiness for both wheel and pedals for being a foldable frame. It also has just enough adjustability to fit just about anyone. This chair is amazing.

One consideration if you plan to buy - seat angle and distance from wheel move at the same time. Body size and your ideal position will make a difference if this seat works for you. I let the straps out for a more laid back angle and found myself on the floor after a short time. Put some straps around the front and rear bars touching the floor for extra support and all is good. Overall one happy driver.

Since buying a steering wheel to enhance my driving games I wanted something better to attach it to rather than using my Black and Decker work mate and a dining chair (see before and after photos). After buying the Playseat Challenge as an early Christmas present to myself it has completely changed the experienced once again. Extremely easy to put together, comfortable even after hours of sitting in it and best of all perfect to store away in the under stair cupboard. Easily the best purchase I have made for my PS4, two of my colleagues purchased one also and they are equally as impressed.
    Thank you Playseat!!

The chair has good functionality to the design for the hardcore gamer. It is well constructed and has the ergonomics needed for long periods of playing that is indicative of the gaming world.
I felt the pricing was a bit high but if it lasts then I guess the price is justified.
I would recommend this chair for those that have a variety of games they have in their collection. With the ability to connect the peddles and steering wheel for the racing/GTA type games makes this chair an all round great addition to your world of gaming!

I bought this rig because it was simple and easy to move. I was experiencing back pain due to sitting in a kitchen chair. I league race which calls for long hours in the seat due to high volume of practice. I can achieve that with ease with the playseat challenge. It forms to your body supporting every contour. It’s like a baby in a cradle. Because my butt isn’t going numb and I have no back pain, it’s led to better lap times and way more consistency in the long races. You can litteraly sit in this all day long without any issue. The quality is above what I would expect and it’s way more beefy than I thought it would be. I would have loved to had an adjustment to rake the pedals but I’m planning on building a platform to do that. The pedals being flat does put a little strain on the knees after long hours of racing. That being said your average Joe will never know the difference. Like I said I practice for long stents due the demands of endurance racing.

If you want something that isn't a permanent fixture in your room, but are pretty serious about your SIM racing, then you can't really top the Challenge. Most wheel stands cost just a little less and with this you get the whole set up. It is quite comfortable and is easy to fold up and put in the closet or wherever. I just got mine last week and have already logged quite a few hrs in it. I just wish I had more hands so I could give it four thumbs up. Excellent piece of kit. Thanks

So I am new to Sim Racing and just bought my first wheel (Thrustmaster t300rs gt) along with the Playseat Challenge - What a HOOT! I cannot imagine having one without the other - the Challenge is amazingly comfortable and sturdy for a light collapsible design, and at 200+ lbs my wheel and pedal set remain firmly in place. I don't believe there is a better system out there for the money. I am so happy I didn't try and make do with a stand, as the playseat brings a level of authenticity to the experience that I don't think could be replicated.

After picking up a Logitech G920 on a Black Friday Deal, I wanted a cockpit to complete the experience. I looked around on Amazon, eBay, etc, and found a few options that fit my needs. Originally I settled on a wheel stand made by a competing company that can eventually be upgraded using a real car seat but I decided to cancel my order and get the playseat challenge instead due to the cost and the ability to fold the seat up when not in use.

Shipping was fast and the seat itself is high quality. I love the seat and when adjusted it feels perfect for what we are all looking for, racing! I also grabbed the stick shifter adapter but you can also make due using a few RAM mounts. If you're looking for a cockpit yourself, look no further as the playseat challenge is an amazing seat.

It was Thanksgiving in the United States and I had just been given some of the best news of my life. I was getting a Playseat. No longer would I be relegated to a plastic chair and a rickety wooden table to conduct my Grand Turismo Sport racing. I had been given the green light and was ready to place my order. I searched for hours, looking for a “deal” or a coupon code but nothing would work. I chalked this up to the superior reputation of the Playseat name. Obviously they wouldn’t lower themselves to parlor tricks to garner recognition. Their name speaks for itself. Not only that, the Playseat Challenge was already on sale! Wasting no more time I delved into the website from my phone. I easily found my item and added it to my cart. I thought I’d try one more thing. Utilizing the chat function, I asked the beautiful young lady (she had a picture in the chat) if she would give me free shipping since it was my birthday. She politely declined. Undeterred, I pressed on. Item added. Shipping calculated (about $40 to the US). Paypal information entered. Submit. Woohoo! Now I just had to wait. How long, you ask? Well, I got back on the chat and asked my fair assistant and she quickly replied that it would be 5-8 days. For such a long journey, I was quite impressed. Notifications arrived in a flurry. My own personal Playseat was in the mail within a day. The Fed Ex tracking indicated that delivery would be 2 weeks, much to my chagrin. But wait! It arrived early! On the 7th day to be exact. I was elated beyond words and quickly set to work on assembling my racing seat.
Done. Yep. Assembly was a breeze. The instructions are illustrations only but it’s really pretty self-explanatory. Now that the chair was assembled it was time to adjust. A word to the wise: Do NOT attempt to adjust the chair whilst sitting in it. Unless you WANT to be splayed out on the floor with your girlfriend laughing at you. With that lesson learned I tried out several positions until I settled on a very laid back stance with my feet far in front of me. It’s amazing. I feel like a champion when I race now and my lap times have already improved. The fine alcantra suede really makes it a comfortable “ride” too. So far, I have zero complaints. Well, it’s a little hard to get out of sometimes but that’s not the chair’s fault. It’s my fault for making the position so low and for being 6 feet 2 inches tall and for not wanting to stop racing.
You know what else is great? I had a party the other day and needed space so I just rotated the steering wheel down and folded everything up and moved it into the closet. Easy peezy.
This is a great product and I encourage anyone that doesn’t have the space or money for a fully actuated racing dungeon to try this product. Tell ‘em I sent ya. (it won’t help you out, but they’re pretty nice anyway)

If you plan to use it occasionally in the living room, this is THE choice. As my first seat, I am also super glad I did not spend more for other products, as I not missing their featurs at all. However, It is so cheap I still can consider upgrading my set up by adding any other type of plasyseat, in the future, for a two seats game set, as soon as a dedicated room will be available.

This chair is a life changer. If you are like me, married and in a house that is barely big enough, you understand the space constraints I am under. Before this chair I had a basic (but still expensive) stand that just sat on the ground, not attached to a chair. I tried playing from my couch, my office chair, every chair in the house. Yeah they worked, but okay at best. The stand slid around, it was a constant adjustment, it flipped and flopped and mid race trying to adjust all these things...painful if not impossible.

The Challenge seat was not much more than the stand in cost, but it was a life changer. It is very comfortable, you can play the game for much longer (the wife loves that...no she doesn't...) and it takes up less space (she does love that!). It folds up easily, can be tucked into a closet or behind a chair and it out of sight. It folds out in seconds, I slide it into place and I am locked into a 1,000 HP track monster tearing up Willow Springs. The feel is incredible, it is a night and day improvement, so much more realistic.

Someday we all hope to have a full sim setup with a nice Recaro seat, but until I hit the lottery and can afford that full blown set up with a house large enough to hold it, this Challenge seat is the winner winner chicken dinner! Race on!

To get that "Low Driving Position" I've been using a "Bean-Bag". All I got was back backache! So my PS4 lay dormant for quite a time. GT7 came out, and I had to start again... but this time with my Playseat® Challenge. No more aches and pains. Just pure fun and my Playstation is running hot once more. I'm 1'96 (6'5), but with just 15 minutes assembly and adjustment, I found my perfect driving position. The design and quality is outstanding, as are the materials used. The alloy tubing is stable, the seat fabric feels really nice, and it was very easy to mount the Wheel and Peddles. When I'm finally dragged back into the real world, my Playseat folds up and stored underneath the spare bed. If you're into Driving Simulation... look no further than the Playseat® Challenge.

Well what I can say other than this thing is awesome. Without this sounding like a too stereotypical review, it really does improve the overall experience of driving with a steering wheel and pedals.

After doing lots of research I kept coming back to the Playseat Challenge and am definitely glad I ended up going that way.

Just received my seat and it was nicely packaged and easy to install - my G29 wheel was not an issue. Cables, a bit of an issue, but will most likely figure this out in the next few days. Logged a few hours in the seat and it is very comfortable. I have not folded the seat yet, but suspect that maybe be a challenge, especially finding the right piece of Velcro to hold the foot pedals. Other than that the seat is a great entry level seat at a very competitive price. Not to mention that it can fold up, saving space and ear time from my wife / kids.

I recently got a racing wheel and pedals for my PS4 along with a copy of Project Cars. I was very excited because I could not relive the great times when I used to race shifter go-karts as a kid and drive really cool cars. Got home, fired up the TV and Playstation, dissasembled a bar stool, hooked the wheel there and sat at the edge of the bed to play. Wow!! This drives like a real car! But wait now I need something to lock the pedals in place cause they keep moving... Shoe box to the rescue, placed it between the TV stand and the pedals... Fastforward a couple hours later... My back is killing me. My improvised setup, although quite imaginative was terrible.
Decided to go on the internet and do some research. Long story short I found the Playseat Challenge read and saw countless reviews, some technical some not so much, got to the website and fired the trigger to get one.
Best decision ever!!! The Playseat Challenge is very well made, the fabric feels and looks amazing and it is incredibly comfortable for long driving sessions. It also has the benefit of being very easy to store under the bed or in a closet, so the girlfriend does not complain of your stuff being in front of the TV all the time.
So if you just got a wheel, want to properly drive your favorite super car and take it for a proper spin around SPA, don't even think about it and get this bad boy. NOW!

I've been racing with a wheel stand for years. I sat on the couch very far away from the monitor. Basically, not the most ideal position.
From the couch if I setup the proper FOV in game, there was no way that I could play. So, my FOV was never correct.
In addition, sitting on the couch was uncomfortable and my back would hurt after a short while. I never played for more than 45 minutes because of that.
I also couldn't use a set of loadcell pedals I have on the wheel stand b/c there was nothing holding the stand so it would slide when I pressed hard on the breaks.

I finally decided that I would spend the money and buy the Challenge.

WOW. Now, life is different. Here are the highlights:

    1) So much more comfortable. Be aware. Time will pass and it will be hours later before you decide to stop playing and that's probably b/c you must go to bed so you can get up and go to work the next day. Boy, I wish my work was to sim race :)

    2) Setting up the correct FOV. Again WOW. In some tracks, my time has improved by over 2 seconds. In one particular track, I am over 3 seconds faster. Now, this is not a feature of the seat per se since you could do that by just sitting closer to your monitor on a regular seat, but for me, it is because I now have the Challenge that I can use in my living room and put away when I'm done (may hours later) and have my wife still be happy.

    3) Who needs a butt shaker when you have this seat. Because of the construction of the seat, you feel the vibration coming from the wheel on your entire body. I find that so engaging and I believe it even helps with my driving since I know with my entire body what's happening with the car. But don't mistake the feeling of the vibration as a sign that the Challenge is poorly constructed. I've found the construction to be top notch.

    4) I can use my loadcell pedals again. This in combination with the proper FOV is what has, I believe, contributed to the better lap times.

Here is the only negative that I found with the seat. There is no built-in way to place a shifter. I knew this so I bought the adapter with the Challenge. However, once I got it, I realized that the position of the shifter with this adapter would not be ideal. I decided to make my own mount. Ram Mounts to the rescue. I purchased the following items: Ram Zinc U-Bold 1-inch ball, Ram Mount Double Socket Arm for 1-inch Ball Bases, Ram Mount Motorcycle Brake/Clutch Reservoir Cover Base with 1-inch Ball.
Once I had these items, I placed the U-Bolt between the seat on the clamp on the right-hand side. I attached the double socket mount and the motorcycle mount to that. Then I attached the shifter to that using the table clamp that came with the shifter.

Final thoughts. Are you short of space and want to have a rig that is easy to setup and put away when done? BUY THE PLAYSET CHALLENGE. Is it better than your couch? Heck yes. Is it better than a desk chair? Heck yes. Is it better than a full-blown rig? If you don't have the space like I don't, heck yes.

BTW, it arrived to my house 2 business days (4 days early total) before the scheduled delivery date. I received it all the way here to the US in 4 days.

    My current equipment:
    Rig: Playseat Challenge
PC: Intel i5-6500, 16GB memory. 500GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GTX 1016 OC 6GB video card.
    Wheel base: Thurstmaster T300RS
Rims: All Thurstmaster: Ferrari F1 Wheel, Ferrari 599XX Evo Alcantara, VG TX (never gets used)
    Shifter: Thrustmatger TH8A
Pedals: Fanatec CSR Elite (oldies but goodies)

Sims I play in no particular order: Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, Race Room Racing Experience, Automobilista, iRacing, and I'm looking forward to Project Cars 2.

Racing Level: I'm an average player. In every World Faster Gamer rFactor 2 trials I placed a bit better than 1/2 way every time. In iRacing I have a C license with a 4.97 safety rating and a ~1800 iRating (road, I don't do oval) after 2.5 months.

Good racing seat for a beginner like myself and little room. Not too over priced easy to put together, just a tiny bit wablly when the steering is hanging over, but it doesn't tip over. Over all I would recommend the challenge racing seat for a first time buyer.

Now the only negative thing is the price of the shifter mount. When installed the chair will not hold all the way correctly and I think it's over priced for a peice of metal. However it's does the job and shifter is attached well.

I'm using this with the Fanatec CSL Elite Wheel base that is very heavy, but the Playseat Challenge is sturdy! The wheel base sits there firmly, no wobbling at all.
Unfortunately the CSL wheel base has only one screw hole that matches with the template on the metal base, but the Playseat Challanges shipped with two huge strips of excellent adhesive velcro tape and that is enough to keep the base in place while driving and when I store it folded.

The seat is very comfortable. After spending about 6 consecutive hours in it (this says a lot about how much fun it is), the only thing that hurt were my hands!
The seat has many degrees of adjustability, so I'd really recommend that you take your time figuring out what works for you. My only complaint is that I wish that the pedal board could be positioned a bit higher above the ground.

The design is great, you can tell that every single detail has been thought out with the user in mind; whether it was to make it comfortable or easy to store or enjoyable, they didn't cut corners.
The alcantara is a nice touch!
Storing it away is extremely easy, it takes just few seconds after developing the muscle memory :) If your wheel base is bulky like mine, make sure to tilt the steering wheel all the way in, if not almost upside down. The only downside of folding it is that you will loose the pedals setting, but I'm thinking that with the right marker I could mark the position on the rods.

    Enough for now, let's race!

I really like the Playseat Challenge. It sets up easily and breaks down easily. Once you get it adjusted, it can be very comfortable. Pretty awesome product but there are a couple of things that would make it even better. I have a Thrustmaster T300 wheel and it is pretty big. Where it mounts is too close to the seat. It looks like you can use different holes on the mounting plate to accommodate, but it would be nice to have a quicker method of adjusting so I can switch from adult to kid mode quicker. The other thing which would be an easy fix. There needs to be more velcro to attach on the arm rests. I have to adjust it way back to get comfortable, but then there is very little velcro left to hold me up. It has dropped me a couple of times before I figured out where to adjust it to hold. I am afraid to let my heavier brother in law sit in it! I suggest making an American version for the new wider generation.

Ordering online can be a bit of a lottery, especially with a product like this, as you can't really tell the quality of the product from pictures and poor build quality or flimsy materials would ruin any enjoyment to be had. The fact it is German gave me a degree of reassurance but it was only when it arrived that my mind was put at ease. It took 5 mins to set up with clear instructions and is everything I had hoped for. It feels solid and the seat is very comfortable. Thankyou to playseat.

It is perfect designed for small space and can be folded into a very small size. The best about this rig is that all the peripherals (i.e. the wheel, pedels) stay attached to the ri, even when folded.

I was also very suprized to see how stable it was. There is no movement that would feel wierd. I sit comfotrably in this chair even though i'm 2 meteres big.

The only thing that bothers me is the price. I would love to see that rig at a price of 150 €, that way it could fit perfectly between the higher positioned playseat evolution and conventional wheelstands.

I would recommend this product as an entry- Level rig and as a console rig. It is stable and drilled for most wheels on the market. I would definetly buy this product again and the shipment was fast and reliable. It only took two days to deliver to Germany. Great Product!!!

I've wanted a PlaySeat for years but couldn't justify it due to space constraints. I finally got a PlaySeat Challenge and I cannot stop raving about it! It's very sturdy and more comfortable than I imagined. It folds up nicely when not in use while keeping the wheel and pedals mounted. Now it's time to upgrade my Driving Force Pro to a G29 with a gear shifter!

I've been a console lap racer for years, all the way back to the PS2. As racing simulations got better, my experience didn't. Finding the Playseat Challenge has completely changed that. With limited space and budget, I thought having a true driving cockpit was never going to be for me. The Playseat Challenge is high quality, yet reasonably priced, and allows me to mount my wheel, pedals and shifter and drive in true comfort. Very stable when in use, but folds very compact without removing any of my gear. I would highly recommend the Playseat Challenge to anyone, especially those with limited space.

The chair is great as far as being able to fold up and store. In my opinion it was not designed for larger men. I feel confined with no side to side leg room but I am still glad I purchased. I did not kill the rating because it does seem like a well constructed seat with just the one flaw. If I had the chance to sit in one before I purchased mine I would have still bought it.

I'm hardcore simracer and I had my T300RS clamped to my desk with T3PA pedals leaning against a wall but still moving around too much. I have very little space and little money - when considering my options, these two facts limited my choice to either a wheel stand or fully foldable racing seat. With wheel stand you need also a good seat, which I don't really have.
So I was left with a fully foldable cheap racing seat option, and in the whole market Playseat Challenge was the one and only choice.

So I researched and bought it.

After 2 weeks of testing, I can give my pros and cons:
+ amazing stability, the wheel and the pedals are firmly in their place, neglegible moving/bouncing.
+ I can feel force feedback through all the seat construction
+ from fully folded to fully installed in less than 2 minutes
+ amazing foldability, very easy to store, even self-standing when folded
+ quite comfortable, I use it not only for racing, but also for other gaming and general PC usage
+ Quality of the materials looks very good

    - the seat sometimes squeaks a little bit when not sitting still
    - even with discounted price (200€) and despite the good build quality, it is still a little expensive. But hey, it's not mass produced so we can't expect amazing prices.

First off, I've only logged about 1 hour of usage since receiving the Playseat Challenge, so these are my initial impressions. As context, I'm new to sim-racing but in real life compete in amateur endurance racing and have 3 years of wheel-to-wheel experience. I'm using this seat a training tool for skills improvement.

With respect to price, being from Canada I purchased the seat from Playseatstore.com directly in USD. I thought it would be shipped from the US but it was actually shipped from the Netherlands. The shipping was about $40USD via FedEx which resulted in another ~$30USD of customs and brokerage charges. So be aware of this depending on your country.

On receipt it was packaged nicely in a large box. Instructions to assemble were straight forward and I had it setup in about 10 minutes. The hook-and-loop straps (Velcro) are thick and strong but the little cloth red tabs used to grip and separate the straps are flimsy. They ripped off immediately. So top tip, don't use those to undo the straps, just grab the edge of the strap and pull.

Once assembled the overall design and construction is well executed. It's much beefier than a fold-up camping chair. I like the small rod that extends from the left side to potentially offer added stability. The rotating hinge for the wheel mount bar is a substantial piece of plastic, but plastic nonetheless. As is the locking collar that secures the bar in place. I will be sure to be gentle on those pieces as a failure would render the steering wheel mount useless.

In terms of ergonomics there is a lot of adjustability but you cannot adjust the height of the steering wheel, only the plane or tilt of the wheel face. The pedal holder feels solid and offers nice fore and aft adjustability but no tilt. I did like that additional hook-and-loop straps were provided to secure the wires and keep things looking clean. Also the additional straps to hold it in the fold-up position are well placed.

In terms of adjusting the seat position it does require you to get out of the seat, adjust the arm straps and sit back down to test it out. A few times doing this can be tiring but once set it was set in a comfortable position and it won't need to be reset, unless for a different person.

The seat is much firmer than I thought it would be. With the straps holding the seat material to the frame taut it feels firm, almost on the hard side. I like the Alcantara but once you're playing you don't notice it. Time will tell if I experience any fatigue on longer sessions.

Overall, I'm satisfied and happy with the quality and performance of the Playseat Challenge, but given the price, shipping, and brokerage I'm blown away with the value. It's good, but not a steal.

As an avid gamer, I found myself in the usual position of having to enjoy my racing games in the presence of my wife......periodically huffing and silently judging me with her eyes on the living room sofa. Additionally, to this, I was becoming completely fed-up of the back seat driving my wife was doing with her constant digs over my lap restarts and occasional off-track excursions. I needed somewhere more private and a seat with room for only 1 arse to fully focus on my extremely important gaming time.

    Enter the Playseat Challenge!!

Perfectly compact to store under the spare room bed yet sturdy enough to enjoy hours of gaming and repeated bashings from the dual motor force feedback in my Logitech G29 wheel, with no one to distract me or offer their unwanted reviews on my driving mastery!

The alcantara seat material offers a very soft and comfortable seat with a perfect driving position and strong pedal support, and all this with the ability to hide the seat away when your parents visit and may be fooled into thinking your still a teenager with your own gaming setup.

All in all, a great piece of kit and will transform any driving game you play whilst making you feel like you could smash any F1 driver on a good day!

Top-TIP!! Add a strong door lock to your man cave for an even better, uninterrupted gaming experience and while you are at that, clip on a cup holder to the frame to keep hydrated and cool!

    Must buy for any gamer!!

After toying around with my xbox 360 racing wheel again, after the "get back into playing some driving games" bug bit me... a racing wheel that I've had for so many years... I started looking around.

    Wheels. Price points. Models, etc.

then I wondered, as I have always... "what about racing seats? aren't they huge, bulky and expensive?"... just a bit of clicking around and bam, I found this. The Playseat Challenge.

At first glance, just perfect. And it's not because of room - I have room for anything. But, it had all the potential. A great price point (that is, if you add a Challenge and a reasonable wheel it adds up to a comfortable price), the space saving always comes in handy (in terms of storage) and dare I say I was really actually intrigued, and pleased to see that it was .. well, looks great, comfy, with the smart materials where they matter. Soft touch at the top; that's where you'll touch. Strong yet just-right velcro straps where needed, and the right plastic/metal tube mix needed to offer you the lightweight and great price product.

Even the shopping experience (US east coast here). One day earlier than anticipated, so I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived!

For reference, I use it with a Thrustmaster TMX with the better pedals, no shifter at the moment (happy paddle shifting but might get the shifter some day).

I hate to say I'm not sure I'd tell anybody dabbling lightly into this hobby to get any other seat than this one! (and if you already know more and lean to the higher end stuff, go ahead!)

Installation and packaging was top notch. Packaging was in my opinion above the price point. Every corner that could be damaged/knicked had foam or other protection on it. Installation is straightforward and for me perfect (maybe some people might want words not just pictures? but I think if you are capable of configuring wheel controls for video games you go this ;).

Finally, a data point. An eight year old is able to use it (with some pillows), as well as me (average height/build).

Kudos to Playseat for making this product!

To start, this is my first racing rig and I'm using the Logitech G29 with the Playseat Challenge. I do not have a shifter yet so it's just wheel and pedals for my setup.

Setting the seat up was a breeze, it folds easily and takes up surprisingly little space. The directions weren't bad, although it might be good to add some descriptions of things since it all is pictures. It's totally comfortable during racing although long sessions start to cause slight pressure points right above my knees where my thighs contact the chair, but if I lower the angle any further to reduce that pressure then the headrest is in an awkward position and has too steep an angle. Still comfortable though, just take a break every hour or so you'll have no problems. With that said, it's very adjustable which is cool. I haven't had anyone else race on it besides myself but I know that I'd be able to adjust it to their height, etc.

I'm already experiencing the fabric popping out from behind the small plastic windows near the headrest and I've had to use a pointy object to kinda cram it back in there which was annoying to see after only a few weeks of it sitting around and maybe seeing 20 hours of use. Only a cosmetic issue but still, not a great sign considering my other qualms with this seat.

Also the latch point of the wheel mount cross bar immediately starts showing wear due to it making very solid contact when in the locked driving position. I don't think it'll cause any problems but I'm mildly concerned about the long term durability since there are metal parts contacting plastic parts.

Same goes for the wheel rotation position adjustment. Even when firmly in place there's a fair amount of wiggle room. It makes me feel slightly nervous about racing roughly (hard corners and whatnot) and I end up re-tightening the knob every 30 minutes or so just to make sure it's still in place. With that said, it's cool that this seat can adjust the wheel angle since plenty of mounts cannot.

Cord management is fine, and there are plenty of extra velcro pieces that you can use to tie cords where you want them to be.

The seat might feel flimsy and start to tip easily when you aren't sitting in it, but don't let that fool you. That's part of what makes this rig's overall design cool because it's solid as a rock when you're sitting in it. Your weight is vital to the stability of the seat.

I'm not the biggest fan of the way the chair adjusts the distance to the pedals. It appears to be just a single plastic pin on each side that "screws" down to hold the bars in place at the desired extension. I would much prefer a more concrete setting like it was locking into a hole in the metal bar (similar to the way the rotation wheel mount secures to the left side of the seat). I say this because I didn't turn them enough the first time and when I hit the brakes hard at one point during a race the whole thing started to lurch forward a bit and I had to pause in order to tighten things down into the correct position again. When I tightened the pins down harder than the first time it just didn't feel right because I feel like I'm gonna break the small plastic part. And they could still come loose easily and cause the same issue. Maybe I'm missing something obvious which solves that problem. I guess just beware, make sure you've got everything secured.

Solid seat, but I do think this thing is kinda pricey. I got it on sale, but the suggested retail is $270. If you can spare the extra ~$100 just get one of the Evolution seats unless the storage space of the Challenge is a must for you, since I bet the full seat rigs are much sturdier and solid. But if space is the concern you cannot go wrong with this seat.

I'm happy with the purchase. It definitely solidified my love of racing games since driving with a real wheel in a real seat is super awesome.

I was convinced to purchase this seat after reading other glowing reviews, and, frankly, they are spot on.

Firstly, it arrived before the anticipated arrival date.

The seat build quality is surprisingly good. The many levels of adjustability means everyone - family and friends - can find a comfortable position. It is sturdy and stable - made all the more so, thanks to your body weight holding it down. It doesn't feel like a "portable" rig, but the fact that it folds out of the way is a major bonus!

My one criticism is minor - the manual uses pictograms, which are generally self-explanatory. But it comes with a bag of accessories (bolts, straps, velcro strips) whose functions are not necessarily obvious, if you've never used a steering wheel before. The manual could be a bit more explicit about their functions.

Overall, excellent value, without compromising quality and stability. I highly recommend it. All my mates who've given it a go are planning to purchase one too.

First of all, I have the Thrustmaster TX Ferrari 458 Italia Edition for Xbox One/PC. It fits perfect. I haven't spent a ton of time in the chair yet, but I haven't noticed the pedals move and the wheel is not moving around on me.

The real reason I want to write this review, however, is to talk about how this fits in an amazingly small space. I have an incredibly small bedroom, and I never believed I could get a chair that would fit, still be comfortable and securely hold my wheel and pedals. After a very long debate with myself (months), I bought the Playseat Challenge to see if I could make it work. I honestly expected to return it a few days later, upset that it wouldn't fit in my room.

Amazingly, it does, and comfortably so. Yes, folded up it can be stuck just about anywhere. It really does fold down as small as it seems in the video. When I assembled mine I didn't adjust it much. I'm not leaning way back, and it's actually comfortable for me to have the pedals closest to the seat. I'm 6 feet tall, by the way, and even like this I'm very comfortable and not cramped. My knees are not hitting the base of the wheel or getting in the way. There is just enough space in my room for me to sit like this. I could maybe bring the pedals out an inch farther, maybe lean the seat back just barely more, but luckily don't have to.

Everything else about this chair is great as well. The material of the seat feels very heavy duty, and I do not worry about it. It's comfortable material as well. My longest play session in it is probably two hours, and I never got uncomfortable.

This is an easy five star review for me. Great material, seems very durable, comfortable, and it can actually fit in my super tiny bedroom. Amazing!

It works great for my Logitech G920, and all you need to do is screw it in, and place the additional gear shifter and you're good to go. There are many things that are great about this chair, such as the adjustable pedal holder, or the adjustable wheel angle... The fold up feature works great for just sliding into a closet or against the wall and out of the way, and it doesn't even take more than 5-6 minutes for you to put it all away. This has definitely been an upgrade from the wheel stand, and the mobility and design are perfect for a small apartment.

    - easy to setup
    - fast shipping to the US
    - reasonable price

    Cons
    - wheel deck is a little tilted
    - the gear shifter attachment is far too expensive for what it is
    - using a load cell, and the pedals tend to move around a little bit after a session. They haven't detached from the base, but it would be better if there existed a more solid connection between the base and the rest of the seat.
    - pedals are only attached via one piece of Velcro onto the pedal base. adds another layer of movement.

This seat is perfect for someone who wants more than a wheel stand but doesn't need a full blown rig. The price was ideal (I got it during a sale and it was shipped to the US for under $250). I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It is much more immersive then a wheel stand or desk mounted wheel, yet you don't need to dedicate an entire room to your setup. I just pull the seat up to my desk or T.V. depending on what I wanted to play that day, plug it in and race. The versatility of this chair is what gives it it's value. You can play on console or pc and not have to build a dedicated set up for either. And when you are done, you can take 5 minutes to fold it up and put it in the closet or somewhere out of the way. This is a huge bonus since I think it actually makes the wheel and pedals take up less room then they would if you had to store them on their own. So even though you have a seat with your set, it actually takes up less room!

    Cons / flaws:

    2) The steering wheel platform is a little tilted
    3) The steering support arm and attachment are not solid; the steering wheel is allowed to wiggle.
    4) The pedal platform cannot withstand heavy pushes on the break pedal. Using the Ricmotech load module modification for my G25 pedals, the pedal attachment arms became unglued.

I'm a newbie when it comes to extending the videogame racing experience beyond the default Playstation controllers, but decided to take the plunge and bought a G29 wheel/pedal set. My next decision was what type of wheel stand to buy - at this point I assumed that a cockpit set-up was beyond my budget and I needed a portable solution that I could stow away when not being used. But then, for a similar price, I stumbled across the Playseat Challenge and found lots of positive reviews, so decided to take the plunge. The seat arrived at my home shortly afterwards and was packaged immaculately. It took just a few minutes to set-up and after adding my G29 I was literally off to the races. It's amazing how immersive the experience becomes when you're sitting in the seat. The seat is robust and comfortable with little design flairs that make it feel very professional. The clever design allows you to completely customize the seating, wheel and pedal positions. And once you're done racing for the day, it folds up in seconds and stores easily in a closet. I'm so glad I chose the Playstation Challenge instead of a wheel stand and would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to take their videogame racing experience to the next level.

You won't be disspointed with the palyseat challenge, I have bought it because I can store it away with my full G29 wheel on it. Setting it up is really easy, the seat is very well adjustable, and your own weight make it's very stable to use. The wheel bolds onto the wheel mount with the screws that come with the seat.

I am 1.86m long and still have enough space to adjust the pedals for comfortable driving. Good build quality for a good price.
    Recommend for store away solutions!

I've never owned a seat to use with my XBOX. Purchased the Challenge and received it a week ago. This seat has made a major difference in how well I'm driving in Forza 6. I'm winning and increasing the difficulty of the game as I go. I don't want to just win every time I play, I want to make it competitive. I would recommend the PlaySeat Challenge to anyone who may have a budget or someone that is not playing driving games all the time. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT HAS MADE!!!!!

I am more than satisfied with this setup. It's quite comfortable (although a little on the narrow side) and extremely adjustable. Sim Racing is now a reality with this setup!

One of the strengths of this seat is the ability to be able to fold it up and stash away. My wife really loves this!

    Very highly recommended.

My son and I have been using our new Playseat for the last two weeks and we absolutely love it. It adjusts quickly and is perfect for our driving games/sims. My one caution would be do not try and adjust the seat while sitting in it because we ended up on the floor.
The portability of it makes it perfect for people who cannot dedicate a large amount of space for a regular chair. I can only give very positive feedback for this fun and solid chair.

I love it, few complaints really. At 5'8" it works well I would imagine if you were much bigger it wouldn't work well. Mostly due to the fact that the area where the wheel bar crosses feels thin and constricting. Although this and a minor bend needed to fix the alignment of the wheel mount bar I would buy and reccommended this and have had a few friends buy it aswell.

This seat is perfect for my small room and has helped me streamline my sim racing setup. It takes me less than a minute to get set up and a minute to put everything away. Overall the seat is very comfortable and I've put in several long sessions on iRacing without a problem. My G25 is mounted really securely and there are no stability problems with the seat. Overall, if you're looking for a seat and live in a small space this setup is for you!

The entire process has been amazingly simple. From ordering, shipping, set-up, and most importantly use - this product has exceeded all of my expectations.

Comfortable enough for long racing sessions, and easy to fold up and pack away keeps the wife happy too!

Couldn't recommend this chair highly enough!

The Playseat is tailor-made to suit the modern family home - allowing you to immerse yourself & enjoy the thrills of driving simulators, then easily + quickly pack away to a compact size.

Only 2 things I would change:
    1) Comfort - make slightly wider... particularly where the legs sit against the side strap mounts
    2) Price - whilst it is a good design & quality build...this is quite an expensive item for what you get.

    Certainly is lots of fun!

Excited to finally purchase and glad when it finally arrived but then became so busy that it has taken 2 months to get around to assemble it which was a breeze. But then stupid me decided for whatever reason to undo the straps for the seat while sitting in it and the whole thing collapsed and boy did it hurt, part of the challenge hit a wound that was healing on my shin and re-opened it lol. Anyway dont be a dumbass like me and adjust while sitting, just get up and adjust little here and there. Other than that I love this rig :-)

This is the first racing chair that I've owned, so I have nothing else to compare it to other than regular office chairs. I'm going to go line by line for the product ratings. TL;DR? Look at Overall at the end.

    Price/Quality:

Can't argue too much here. This is their lowest priced seat, and is the most practical of the bunch as well. Got a cramped living space? Got kids? Most importantly, got a wife/girlfriend who won't let you put a permanent rig in the middle of the living room or bedroom? This is the chair for you! I've got a family of six living in a three bedroom house, so space is a bit at a premium. I can fold the chair down and put it away out of sight easy. None of the other chairs offered by Playseat can do this. You'd think they'd charge a premium for it being practical, but not so. I'm pleased with what I got for the money I paid. It's not perfect, but few things in this world are.

    Comfort:

This chair is very, very comfortable once you've got it set up how you like. I've fallen asleep in this thing because of how it cradles you. It may be a little too comfortable in that case. There's only one minor ding I have against it in the comfort category, but I'm going to leave that criticism in the design section.

Design: The guys at Playseat actually did a pretty good job designing this seat considering the value you get for it. I've got some problems with the chair, and this part of the review is going to mostly go over the negatives I have with the design.

I've got a Logitech G27 (as I'm sure most people who opt for an entry-level setup do), and the wheel itself mounts up perfectly to the mounting plate. They include the hardware you need. You just line up the wheel with the holes on the plate and mount it on. There's a big knob on the bottom of the plate for adjusting the tilt on the wheel. The knob tightens down a small, plastic splined piece into a mating splined piece on the plate itself. This makes the wheel fairly secure when tightened and has a minimum of slop. My only concern is that both spline surfaces are plastic, so the teeth might get chewed up if you don't tighten the pieces down perfectly straight and aligned with each other. Just take care with alignment and there should be no long-term troubles. Will you be adjusting this a lot? That depends. If you put the chair away after use, you will be adjusting this every single time you. Same with the pedals.

In order to get a G27 to work with this, you have to buy an additional bracket to mount it to the main wheel. If you're handy, you can buy an L bracket at a home center and fabricate your own, but I didn't mind paying for it. The shifter screws onto the plate, and the plate is clamped into the wheel with its main clamps. That's it. The problem with this design is that you can't fold the chair up with the shifter installed. You have to unclamp the bracket and slide it out of the wheel. With a little effort you can figure out how to fold the chair up and keep the shifter nice and tidy when folded, but it's an added hassle.

One major positive to how the seat is designed is how the entire wheel section pivots out of the way for you to get in and out of the seat. There's an extension arm at the foot of the chair to compensate for the balance when this is done. The chair would flop over without it, so it's good they included that feature.

The chair is a bit of a hassle to get in and out of. It's slung very low, which is part of why it's so comfortable. But getting in and out can be a chore.

Now onto the pedals. There has been a lot of criticism about the red plastic screws on the foot pedals breaking. I'm going to tell you the reason they break is that people over-tighten them. A lot. You don't need to go at them like a 400 pound gorilla. Give them about a half turn once you start to feel them making contact with the bar. Make them snug, not tight. Do this and your screws won't break, and they'll hold just fine. That having been said, I wish they could have put detents into the bar for easily repeatable settings. One of the more appealing aspects of this chair is that you can fold it up and put it away. The downside to this is that you lose your pedal setting every single time you put it away. One work around for this is to get the pedals adjusted how you like, and then mark the bars with pencil so that you can see where to lock the sliders down. A bit of a hassle, but certainly not a deal-breaker.

A nice aspect is that the bar itself pivots up and down. You can fold up a towel, find a box or something else, and adjust the pedal angle. There's no built-in clamp for angle adjustment, but at this price point what can you expect?

And now for the biggest beef I have with the entire chair. This would be an absolute deal-breaker for some people--the chair is very, very, VERY narrow. I don't know who Playseat has working in their testing/QA department, but they all must be super skinny and small. I can't believe no one noticed and/or addressed this issue before deployment. I'm not a big person by any means, and I barely squeeze into it. There are metal rings used to connect the arm straps to the bars. These rings cut into my thighs because of how narrow the chair is. If you're built like a child, have no worries. If you're average sized, take caution. If you're a big boy or girl, forget it. Playseat's lack of attention on this one aspect is appalling.

    Fun:

Is it fun? You bet. Once you get it set up, it's a lot of fun. Your wheel and cables are a one-time setup once you've got the wheel base aligned with the plate and the wires wrapped to the lengths you need. Adjusting wheel tilt and pedal length every time sucks, but the chair folds up, so it's a given. One last ding on the fun factor is how heavy this rig is once you have everything installed. With a G27 setup, this thing weighs about 35 lbs (or approximately 16 kgs). Weight and adjustments are downsides, but don't ding the final score because there's little Playseat could do to change these things. It simply comes with the territory.

    Overall:

The TL;DR version: A great entry-level chair for people on a budget or people who have a demanding roommate. The only chair in the lineup that folds up to be put away. Build quality is good. Be gentle with the plastic, ESPECIALLY the pedal screws (snug, NOT tight). Take caution if you're a big person because the chair is extremely narrow. It's a lot of fun, negatives aside, and you'll never go back to an office chair after experiencing this. Definitely worth the money. Go get one. Now.

This thing is awesome and goes great with the Logitech wheel. I have sat in it for hours playing several times. Being able to fold it up and out of the way when I'm not using it is also great. The only complaint I have is the pedal rest clamps are glued on so if your rough on the pedals like I am then you will eventually push the assembly out of the clamps like I did.

Overall I think this chair is a great value at the price. It is stable, well designed, and pretty comfortable for a fold up. Easy to set up and easy to fold and store. My one complaint is the pedal platform adjusters are not sturdy and broke loose quickly with aggressive braking pressure. I remedied this by wrapping a car tie down around the pedal system and chair bottom and I'm good to go. A strap of this sort might prove an simpler and more robust answer instead of the weak plastic fittings. As I have very limited space to set up in, and as I need to keep the area clear at other times, this chair is a perfect solution for me.

The playseat challenge is really quick to setup. Storage is a big plus for this seat because it folds up with the steering wheel and pedals attached. It's is really easy to use. The steering wheel and pedal is very sturdy. Adjustable straps and locks for the seat to fit people of all sizes. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

First off I must say I really love using this thing. After a little trial and adjustment I have it set to a very comfortable driving position that I can maintain for hours of online racing. I have the room to leave it set up all the time and my cat also finds it very comfortable when I'm not using it.
The only negative is at current exchange rates and with taxes and duties added on it ended up costing me twice as much as the price listed on the American web site. Delivery also took 5 days.
I'd recommend this thing to anyone with limited space and or lower back problems who like racing but have a hard time sitting for any length of time. Just make sure you figure out what it's going to really cost you before deciding to order
